Two Investments that have Helped Me Generate

Retirement Income!

In my first article I talked mainly about ways to produce extra income through high yield stocks and ETFs that have historically proven to be reliable. In this article I want to introduce 2 more such investments. Let’s see. Is the wording “such investments” the best way to construct that sentence??  Should I ask for grammar checks on Word? Nope! I’m sticking with it. 😊

Before I begin, I want to remind you again that I am not a broker and am not offering stock recommendations. I also do not run a stock or stock options strategy company. I’m simply a retiree like you who has gained knowledge that has been helpful to me, and I’d like to share those experiences with you. Let’s get started.

In my first article I told you about Verizon which, of course, is a well-known solid stock that pays over a 6% dividend. I also told you about QYLD which is a well-known ETF. So here are a couple more good investments, in my opinion.

  • Realty Income Corporation (O) – This real estate investment company owns a large portfolio of properties and has a long history of dividend increases. Yield is usually around 5%+.  The nice thing about this stock is it pays about 27 cents monthly per share. Its fundamentals, in my opinion, look good. The stock is trading for $62.72 at the time of this writing.
  • Virtus InfraCap U.S. Preferred Stock ETF (PFFA) – Just like its name suggests, this is an ETF. Remember, that stands for Exchange Traded Fund. The fund was trading for $21.11 at the time of this writing. It has a yield of about 9.6% and pays 17.25 cents per month per share. This fund invests in the preferred shares of stock. Companies like Verizon or Apple or Microsoft have a certain class of stock that get preference over its common shares. These preferred shares usually pay a nice dividend, and those dividends have priority over the common shares. For that reason, preferred shares are attractive to retirees. The fund invests in a basket of these stocks and passes the dividends along to the investor. Like QYLD, which I talked about in my first article, PFFA increases the amount of its dividend through use of options. More on that later.

If these investments interest you, one thing to consider is to wait for a dip to buy them at a better price. Investors often think of this as waiting for the stock to go on sale. This is a strategy that can be used on any stock purchase. Of course, if a stock you are interested in has already taken a dip you may want to consider going in immediately. Each investor must decide on what strategy suits them best.

Coming Soon: A Buy-the-Dip Strategy

If buying on a dip interests you, keep reading my articles. In an upcoming article, I’ll explain an options-based strategy that can help you buy stocks at lower prices while also generating additional income.

“I know, some of you may be saying – ‘wait! I want to know what that is – now!’ 😠” Sorry. Tough luck. You’ll just have to wait. Just kidding – but not kidding about being patient. This strategy entails a bit of learning and while it’s not that difficult to understand, I don’t want to confuse you at this point. That will be a subject of its own.

Ok. I think that is enough information for now. However, if you have any questions or comments, you can email me at ponzot2004@yahoo.com. Or scroll down to the bottom and put your comments in the comment section.
